Corentin Wallez 50f995851d DeviceBase: Make object creation use ResultOrError<Ref<T>>
This is in preparation for a change that will change all the
CreateFooInternal to be CreateFoo so they can be called in a
reentrant manner without special refcounting.

This also standardizes all the backends (except OpenGL and Null)
to use Object::Create that returns a Ref<T> or ResultOrError<Ref<T>>,
something we wanted to do for a long time.

Brandon Jones 3af532b8a8 Update BindingInfo to reflect new BindGroupLayoutEntry structure
Changes the internal BindingInfo structure and any references to it. The
BindGroupLayoutEntry information is normalized when converting it into
the internal representation, but still accepted as either the old or
new layout. A "bindingType" member is added to the BindingInfo that's
not present in the BindGroupLayoutEntry itself to indicate which of
buffer, sampler, texture, or storageTexture is populated. This proves
useful for a myriad of switch statements in the various backends.

Previsouly having a ShaderModule with multiple entrypoints with the same

entrypoints only by their name (instead of name and stage).

And deprecate using ::Float in the bind group layout for

Previously Format::Type was used instead of wgpu::TextureComponentType
so that ::Other could server as a tag value. This was confusing and
almost the single use of ::Other.

In a follow-up CL the format baseType is changed to be a per-aspect
value, and Format::Type. This CL is a self-contained step in that
direction.

Corentin Wallez aeda49ba50 Reuse BGL validation in default layout computations.
Instead of calling validation functions directly in
PipelineLayoutBase::CreateDefault, use ValidateBGLDesc and
ValidatePipelineLayoutDesc.

Also makes the visibility of the default layout match the aggregation as
in the WebGPU spec.

Also makes refcounting of BGLs a bit less manual at the bottom of
CreateDefault.

Also adds tests for minBufferBindingSize and visiblity aggregation in
the default layout computations.

Austin Eng b31f5e717e Remove kMaxBindingsPerGroup limit
kMaxBindingsPerGroup is not a real WebGPU limit. Code in Dawn that
uses it now uses dynamically sized vectors, optimistic stack_vecs or
a different limit like kMaxDynamicBuffersPerPipelineLayout.

The CL introduces kMaxOptimalBindingsPerGroup=32 which is used to size
the static portion of stack_vecs, but the value is tentative.

Austin Eng 7a4685f448 Add TypedInteger
This CL adds a TypedInteger helper which provides additional type
safety in Dawn. It is a compile-time restriction that prevents integers
of different types from being used interchangably in Debug builds.

It also adds ityp::{array,bitset,span} as helper classes to wrap std::
versions (not span). These accept a template paramter as the Index type
so that typed integers, or enum classes, may be used as a type-safe
index.

For now, bind group layout binding indices use TypedInteger. Future
CLs will convert other indices to be type-safe as well.

pipeline with storage buffer declared in vertex shader and pipeline
layout is not set.

Without this patch, in PipelineLayoutBase::CreateDefault() the
bindingSlot.visibility is always set to Fragment and Compute when it is
a storage buffer, therefore a crash happens at the failure of the
assertion modules->IsCompatibleWithPipelineLayout() when the storage
buffer is actually declared in the vertex shader.

Yunchao He d28b578b6b Disallow storage buffer binding in vertex shader
Writable storage buffer in vertex shader is an optional feature.
It is not supported in many devices/OSes. WebGPU doesn't support
writable storage buffer in vertex shader. This change generates an
error for storage buffer binding for vertex shader stage, in order
to disallow writable storage buffer in vertex shader.

This change also adds a validation test and revises existing
end2end tests and validation tests accordingly.

Austin Eng f6eb890f4c Implement getBindGroupLayout
This patch makes the |layout| member of the Render|ComputePipelineDescriptor
optional. If it is not provided, a default layout is created from the
ShaderModules provided and used to replace the layout in the descriptor.

Then, pipeline.GetBindGroupLayout may be called to get the existing, or
the computed bind group layout. If no bind group layout exists at the
provided index, an empty bind group layout is returned.

Yan, Shaobo 351ea23830 Dynamic Buffer Offset : D3D Backend
In a typical graphics application it is a common usage to update some uniforms once per draw,
and such uniforms include the word positions, orientations, and so on. In the current state of
WebGPU, this means that for each draw call we have to create a new bind group to set the right
uniform values. Bind group creation is expected to be more expensive than
recording draws because a memory allocation is required.

The functionality of dynamic buffer offset is to reduce the number of bind groups that need to
be created.

The patch implements dynamic buffer offset on D3D backend using root descriptor.

Corentin Wallez a594f8fdb4 WebGPU error handling 1: Return error objects on errors.
Dawn used to return "nullptr" when an error happened while creating an
object. To match WebGPU we want to return valid pointers but to "error"
objects.

This commit implements WebGPU error handling for all "descriptorized"
objects and changes the nullptr error checks into "ValidateObject"
checks. This method is used both to check that the object isn't an
error, but also that all objects in a function call are from the same
device.

New validation is added to objects with methods (apart from Device) so
they check they aren't error objects.

A large number of ASSERTs were added to check that frontend objects
aren't accessed when they are errors, so that missing validation would
hit the asserts instead of crashing randomly.

The bind group validation tests were modified to test the behavior with
both nullptrs and error objects.

Future commits will change the CommandBufferBuilder to not be a builder
anymore but an "Encoder" instead with special-cased error handling. Then
once all objects are descriptorized, the notion of builders will be
removed from the code.
